Water Main Valve Replacement – 17th and Country Club

This morning, 4/1/2026, City crews will be replacing three aging water main valves at the intersection of 17th Street and Country Club Road. This will have an impact on customers along Country Club Road from K7 highway west to Grandeur Road. The water service shut down will take place at 9:30 this morning and all customers who should be impacted were notified in advance (including Bellevue Country Club and the Sports Complex). Atchison Elementary School should not be impacted.

The valve replacement is taking place at a very busy intersection, so the City street department and the Atchison Police Department will be assisting with traffic control in the area. We encourage drivers to avoid the area today if possible!

We anticipate having the valves installed and water service restored by early to late afternoon today.
