Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation
Important information regarding unemployment benefits from the Kansas Department of Labor:
The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program, which provides an additional $600 weekly payment for unemployment insurance claimants, is now live.
– Claimants may have already seen this payment in their accounts in the last day or two. Others can possibly expect it to show up next week.
– Retroactive payments will be coming soon.
– Anyone who is eligible for UI benefits will automatically receive this additional payment.
There is no need to apply. Retroactive payments will be coming soon.
Employee Rights
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.
These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
