Nearly a decade ago, the State of Kansas elected to consolidate a series of their Workforce Centers across the state. Atchison’s Workforce Center was part of that consolidation with those services having been offered by the Lawrence Workforce Center in the time since the consolidation.

KANSASWORKS is the brand and platform developed by the State of Kansas to provide workforce and employment services. Individuals seeking employment, as well as employers seeking workers, are encouraged to connect with KANSASWORKS to understand what services are available to assist them in their specific circumstances. Resume assistance, job postings, and training/education connections are just a few of the services offered by KANSASWORKS. To learn more, please visit www.kansasworks.com.

The City of Atchison and KANSASWORKS are excited to announce a new partnership aimed at providing an improved workforce development presence in the Atchison community.

KANSASWORKS will provide more frequently scheduled dates for the Mobile Workforce Center, a 38-foot conversion bus that includes 11 Internet-ready computer stations, to assist job candidates and employers. KANSASWORKS personnel accompany the Mobile Center and are available to provide career counseling and resume assistance. The Mobile Workforce Center was just recently in Atchison on Wednesday, November 13th and has a return trip scheduled for Wednesday, December 4th from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Additionally, KANSASWORKS is planning to provide scheduled office hours at Atchison’s City Hall for the next several months in order to provide a convenient and centrally located space to offer their services. Individuals seeking jobs or resume assistance can visit with a KANSASWORKS representative at City Hall on November 21st from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and on December 19th during the same hours.
