Summary: This project will include complete reconstruction of the southbound lanes of US-73 from around the U Street Bridge to 274th Road. The project will remove all existing pavement and base, install a comprehensive underdrain system (aka drainage tile) and construct a new concrete road surface, curb, and gutter. A construction contract with Amino Brothers Co., Inc. was approved by the City Commission on July 17, 2017.
Cost: About $1.3 million, including construction, construction inspection, and materials testing.
Funding: This project is funded by a $1,000,000 grant from KDOT through the Geometric Improvement Program.All remaining costs over that amount will be funded by the City of Atchison Capital Improvement Fund.
