The asphalt portion of the City’s 2020 Street Improvement Project, which included resurfacing of more than 50 blocks of streets, has now reached substantial completion. A resurfacing project on K-7 Highway, which was 90% funded through the KDOT C-CLIP Program, has also reached substantial completion. Both projects only have minor pavement marking work remaining.
“There’s never enough money to do everything we want to do, but it always feels good to convert some of our worst streets into some of our best,” said Justin Pregont, Assistant City Manager. “We’re right back to work planning for the next project and trying to find outside resources to help stretch our local funds as far as possible.”
St. Joseph, MO based Herzog Construction Corp. completed both asphalt projects after besting one other bidder to win the contract awards.
