Atchison E-Community awards first loan for Atchison business acquisition
The Atchison E-Community Program presented $45,000 in loan proceeds to Atchison Merchants, LLC last Friday. It is the first loan awarded to a business in the Atchison community using the new Entrepreneurship (E) Community Program Small Business Loan Program.
Atchison Merchants, LLC is utilizing private, bank, and E-Community financing to acquire Amazing Deals, an existing retail business in downtown Atchison. The company plans to hire one additional full time employee and three additional part time employees in the next 12 months.
The Atchison E-Community Program is administered by the City of Atchison in partnership with NetWork Kansas, an organization dedicated to the growth and support of entrepreneurship in
Kansas. The E-Community program provides low interest gap financing for small business startups, expansions, and acquisitions in the Atchison community. Everyday businesses like restaurants, cleaning services, breweries, small manufacturers, daycare facilities, construction companies, retail stores, etc… can use this locally controlled, revolving loan fund as gap financing to make their small business dreams come true.
