The Public Works Department provides the citizens and businesses of Atchison with efficient, personable service through the effective management of public infrastructure and support services.
Our Services
Public Works promotes quality of life by administering a host of public services, including:
- Street Maintenance
- Parks Maintenance
- Residential Solid Waste & Recycling Services
- Watershed Operations
- Public Works also manages special facilities, including the Downtown Mall, the Riverfront, Lion’s Pool, Amelia Earhart Airport, and Oak Hill Cemetery.
Director of Public Works Clinton McNemee has overall authority and responsibility for the operation of the Public Works Department. Duties include establishing operating guidelines, budget planning and oversight, overall supervision of department personnel, and responsibility for the quality of service provided by the Atchison Public Works Department.
